Multiple Disabilities
Multiple disabilities refers to "...concomitant impairments (such as mental retardation-blindness or mental retardation-orthopedic impairment), the combination of which causes such severe educational needs that they cannot be accommodated in special education programs solely for one of the impairments. Multiple disabilities does not include deaf-blindness."

MediaThe above video on "Understanding Multiple Disabilities" discusses what it means to be classified as "MD". A definition of Multiple Disability according to IDEA is provided. Students/children who have a combination of disabilities in a variety of areas are typically labeled as MD. Additionally, causes of Multiple Disabilities are discussed in the video.
